Understanding concrete fabrications

a brief summary of start to finish

When it comes to the creation of a concrete fabricatrion, it is a little more in depth than measuring out a template and pouring the mold. It starts with getting a general understanding of what vision you see being created. Each piece done is unique in itself. from every edge, color, design they will always be YOUR own. It starts with assesing the area you would like this piece to lay. Whether it be a countertop, sink, or shower bottom; It determines how the pour will go. Some require to be poured on site while others can be fabricated at our shop. Once the measurements are assessed. We then go on to create a template to fit just right. Accounting for every square centimeter a structure is carefully measured out to create a mold. Once completed, the mold is put together. We ensure the mold is flat, smooth and ready to retain the concrete for the pour. Whats next is the color. These pieces can come in any color you can think of and this is your decision to see what you find most appealing. We then use an algorithm to make sure down to the decimal the colors will come together to create the perfect accent. Depending on the size of the mold we then add fiberglass shards to strengthen the entire piece. Once mixed and poured we allow the piece to "cure" for 24-48 hours to ensure the concrete is dry and ready to treat. We carefully remove the piece from the mold and begin to grind, polish, color, and or seal the piece to bring out the most beautiful creation we can. From there is is installed and treated once more to make sure everything is in order.
